So let me explain adding Fade-In and Fade-Out Effects with Audacity. I have already explained how to do this with FFmpeg fading on this website. Follow the instructions below to see how to do this with Audacity. So read further.
Adding Fade-In and Fade-Out Effects with Audacity
Firstly you will need to install Audacity if it is not on your computer. You can see on here where to download Audacity on this website. Once you have installed this you will need to open the program and then launch the software. From there you will need to follow the following steps. Note that if you don’t know what audio file type it is. See also the MediaInfo Lite on here.
Secondly you will now need to import your audio file. You will do this by Click on File > Open and select the audio file you want to process.
Thirdly you will need to select the portion for fade-in and fade-out: Using the selection tool, highlight the portion of the audio where you want to apply the fade-in and fade-out effects. Typically, this would be the beginning and end of the audio track.
In addition you will need to apply the fade-in effect. This is done by clicking Go to Effect > Fade In from the menu bar to apply the fade-in effect to the selected portion of the audio.
Fifthly apply the fade-out effect. Likewise go to Effect > Fade Out from the menu bar to apply the fade-out effect to the selected portion of the audio.
Finally you can now preview and adjust if necessary. In addition preview the audio to ensure that the fade-in and fade-out effects have been applied smoothly. If necessary, you can adjust the length and shape of the fades using the envelope tool.
Lastly you can now export the processed audio. This once you’re satisfied with the result, click on File > Export to save the processed audio file in your desired format.
